About Lockstep Markets

Lockstep Markets is subscription software that reads Polymarket’s public settlement record and tells you whether a wallet’s profit is evidence of judgement or the shape luck makes. It is not a broker, an exchange, a fund or a payment service. It has never held a penny of anyone’s money and is not built to.

Who runs it

Lockstep Markets is operated by Daniel Montgomery-Smith, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. There is no holding company, no offshore entity and no group of unnamed “operators” — there is one person, and his name and trading address are on every contract you enter into here.

What we sell, and how we get paid

One thing: access to the software, by the month. There is a free tier that needs no card. Pro is £60 a month and Unlimited is £90 a month, with cheaper six- and twelve-month prepaid options that expire rather than renew.

We are paid the same whether you make money or lose it. We take no commission, no performance fee, no spread and no cut of anything you trade. That is not modesty — it is the only arrangement under which our verdict on a wallet is worth reading, because we have nothing to gain from telling you a bad wallet is good.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers never reach our servers. You can cancel yourself in Settings at any time without contacting anybody; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for and are not charged again.

What we deliberately do not do

No custody, at any point We never take a deposit, never hold a balance and never process a withdrawal, because there is nothing to pay in and therefore nothing to get out. If you choose to copy a wallet, the trades happen in your own wallet, funded by you. Your keys stay encrypted and are never disclosed to us in readable form.

Our relationship with Polymarket

There isn’t one. Lockstep Markets is independent. We have no partnership with Polymarket, no endorsement from them and no special access to anything. We read the same public settlement data any visitor to their site can read, and we analyse it. Polymarket is a trademark of its owners; we name it only to say what the software looks at.

Regulatory position, stated plainly

Lockstep Markets is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and does not claim to be. It sells analytics software; it does not hold client money, execute orders for customers, or provide regulated advice.

That has a consequence worth being clear about: no part of this service is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service, and nothing published here is a personal recommendation. If you need advice on whether to trade at all, that is a conversation for a regulated adviser, not for us. Trading prediction markets can lose you money, and this software cannot change that.

Where it runs

The application is hosted on a dedicated server supplied by Vultr in Querétaro, Mexico, sits behind Cloudflare, sends email through Resend and reports errors to Sentry. Because Mexico is not covered by a UK adequacy decision, personal data is transferred there under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement. All of this is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.

Common questions

Is Lockstep Markets a broker, an exchange or a trading platform?

No. Lockstep Markets is analytics software sold by subscription. It does not operate a market, hold an order book, match trades, or act as counterparty to anything. It reads Polymarket’s public settlement record and reports what that record supports.

Does Lockstep Markets hold my money or take deposits?

No. There is no deposit, no account balance and no withdrawal process, because there is nothing to pay in. The only money that changes hands is the subscription fee, taken by Stripe. If you choose to copy trades, they happen in a wallet you own and fund yourself, and the money never passes through Lockstep Markets.

Is Lockstep Markets affiliated with Polymarket?

No. Lockstep Markets is independent and has no affiliation, partnership or endorsement from Polymarket. It reads the same public settlement data anybody can read. Polymarket is a trademark of its owners and is referred to here only to describe what the software analyses.

Who operates Lockstep Markets?

Daniel Montgomery-Smith, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading from 15 Treforris Road, Wallasey, Merseyside, CH45 6UP. The same name and address appear in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, and hello@lockstepmarkets.com reaches him directly.

Is Lockstep Markets regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority?

No, and it does not claim to be. Lockstep Markets does not hold client money, execute orders on anyone’s behalf, or give personal recommendations. Nothing it publishes is investment advice, and no part of the service is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Does Lockstep Markets guarantee profits or returns?

No. Every figure it reports describes settled history. A trader who has shown an edge can stop having one, and clearing the evidence bar is not a promise that anything will work. Copying trades risks real money and you can lose some or all of it.

How do I cancel, and how are payments taken?

Card payments are processed by Stripe; card details never reach Lockstep Markets. You can cancel yourself in Settings at any time without contacting anyone. You keep access to the end of the period already paid for and are not charged again. Prepaid periods never renew.
